About

DTF Direct to Film Printer

A Direct-to-Film (DTF) printer is a specialized digital printer that transfers full-color designs onto a special film, which can then be applied to various fabrics and surfaces using heat. Unlike Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printers, which print directly onto fabric, DTF printing involves printing the design onto a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film first, and then transferring it onto a substrate (typically a garment) using heat and pressure.

DTF printers offer a versatile, cost-effective, and durable printing solution for custom apparel and products. They can print on a wide variety of materials, including both light and dark fabrics, without the need for pre-treatment. With high-quality, vibrant prints and a simple heat transfer process, DTF is ideal for businesses looking for flexibility, durability, and high-quality output in their printing operations.

Advantage of DTF Printing

Can Use on Multiple Materials

DTF printers can print on a wide variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, nylon, silk, denim, and even non-textile materials like leather and canvas.

High-Quality Prints

DTF printers produce vibrant, detailed, and durable prints with excellent color accuracy. They handle fine details well, and the ability to print white ink allows for vivid designs even on dark garments.

Long-lasting

DTF prints are known for their durability. The adhesive powder applied during the transfer process helps the design bond firmly to the fabric, making it resistant to washing, stretching, and regular wear. The prints are less prone to cracking, peeling, or fading over time, ensuring long-lasting results.

No Pre-Treatment Required

Unlike DTG printing, which often requires pre-treating garments (especially dark fabrics) before printing, DTF printing doesn’t need any pre-treatment. This saves time and reduces the complexity of the printing process.

Ideal for Sportswear

Perfect for printing team jerseys and athletic wear, especially for materials like polyester.

Cost-Effective

It doesn’t require the expensive setup or screen creation that’s necessary with traditional screen printing, making it cost-effective for producing small batches or even single items.
